RYSE SmartShade is an IoT (“internet-of-things”) smart device that automates your window shades to provide greater comfort and energy savings. As the first retrofit device, RYSE SmartShade is installed on the window frame and controls your shade’s chains or cords to motorize them, able to be controlled via smartphone, voice speakers, or scheduled/timer. Users can also automate based on sensors and weather conditions, designed to block solar heat gain and reduce indoor cooling loads by upwards of 24%, or harvest daylight and reduce artificial lighting by upwards of 74%, saving energy and GHG emissions.

Traditional shade motorization/automation technologies are known as “tubular motors” – as the name implies, they are installed inside the tubes of a window shade, and rotate to lift and lower. As such, consumers need to purchase brand new window shades with the tubular motor installed. RYSE is a retrofit / after-market product that can be installed on existing manual window shades, which is ~95% of all installed window coverings. This means our market is significantly larger, while we retail at a much lower price than the competition.

The company`s products focus on two themes: affordability and retrofit. RYSE aims to provide shade automation as an affordable luxury, available to the masses, and easily installed DIY by end consumers.
